Our Mission Statement is informed by the following Scriptures.
KNOW
"This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent —Jesus Christ" (John 17:3)
The most important need for every single human being is to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. We desire everyone to have an opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus's sin-bearing and sin-atoning work for sinners and to receive Jesus Christ Himself through faith in Him. Jesus Christ is at the center of every song we sing, every prayer that is prayed, and every sermon that is preached for we truly believe Knowing Jesus is the most critical need for all people.
GROW
"We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:18)
It is God's will for His children to grow into greater likeness to the Lord Jesus Christ. This Christian growth can be described by the term "discipleship." Discipleship is a lifelong journey of following the Lord Jesus Christ being conformed into His likeness by increasing measures. This process is carried out in the community of the local church. Therefore, our desire at FBC Bremen is to influence one another to follow Jesus more closely. This is accomplished through Grow classes, Grow groups, gathering with the church on the Lord's Day, praying for one another, and exposing sin for the purpose of repentance. Living things GROW, and God desires the growth of His children!
GO
"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
When we come to KNOW Jesus by receiving Christ through faith, we GROW in Him in a local body of believers, and this group of redeemed people is commissioned by our Lord to GO! The greatest need of all humanity is to be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ. Our main objective in our GO aspect is to bring the simple gospel message across the street, across the state, and across the world. Simply put, as disciples of Jesus Christ, we desire to multiply and make other disciples.
